Program Policies

Non-Transferable Certification and Benefits

The CVE status offered in the Certified Videoconferencing Engineer program is based on the core level technologies surrounding videoconferencing. Candidates are recognized for their competency and should represent their achievement accordingly. CVE status represents individuals only, and is non-transferable; this includes the individuals' affiliation with their employer, and peers within their organization. All program benefits are for the use of the certified individual only, candidates who misrepresent their achievement, or attempt to transfer a benefit to another individual, will forfeit their certification as well as all program benefits.

Candidate Responsibilities

Candidates are responsible for providing payment and scheduling exams by contacting Prometric, our test administration partner. Individuals can schedule their exam by contacting Prometric, either by calling 1-888- 283-5452 or visiting them online at www.2test.com.

Candidates are expected to present themselves in a timely fashion for scheduled exams at the designated testing center. They are also expected to prepare effectively for the exam; preparation and study suggestions are described in this briefing. Candidates should respect the policies and procedures of each testing center as well as the policies and procedures set forth in this program. All CVE fees collected are immediately forfeited if a candidate demonstrates dishonest behavior.

After successfully passing the exam, the individual will be provided with a congratulatory letter from Polycom, with specific details and instructions as to the program benefits directly related to this achievement. After the program benefits are activated, it is the responsibility of the candidate to contact Polycom with address, name, or contact information changes. Polycom does not administer the test at any of its worldwide training centers.

Exam Results and Privacy

Score reports are immediately generated upon completion of each exam, and will be displayed on the monitor of the computer that the individual took the test on. Score reports show passing criteria, candidate score, pass/fail status for exam, section analysis, and available training. Prometric and Polycom will not share the actual score of an exam with anyone other than the candidate, ensuring the privacy of the individual.

Non-Discrimination Policy

The Certified Videoconferencing Engineer Program is available to any individual, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, or age. In addition, Prometric and Polycom make every attempt to accommodate candidates with physical disabilities.

Re-Certification Policy

CVE status is valid from two years of the date on your identification card. It is the responsibility of the certified individual to maintain their status. It is required that all individuals re-take the exam once their CVE status has expired. Please note the expiration date displayed on your CVE Wallet Card.
